How to join the WWVEA and WEA-PAC

Join the WWVEA
Membership in the WWVEA comes with WEA-SE, WEA, and NEA membership, all of which work together to provide the best support and benefits possible. Becoming a member benefits you in at least two ways:
  • You are supported by our full network of services, including negotiations, grievances, free PD, legal services, and so on.
  • You are part of a community that shares the cost of maintaining and improving all of these benefits. The small percentage of non-members are taking a free ride and making their colleagues pay for it. Plus, we have fun wearing our red shirts together.

The Washington Education Association Political Action Committee funds campaigns and initiatives that further educators' interests of public education and union bargaining rights. Each year, WEA-PAC funds candidates of both major parties who are willing to work with us on your behalf. Some people wish education and the union were not so "political," but the reality is that wages, benefits, class sizes, and other supports are ALL political. If we are not working in that arena, then our members lose.

Members may choose to make monthly contributions in the amount of $2.50, $5.00, or $10.50.  It is easy to sign up.

Most of our members see two primary benefits of joining with 95% of their colleagues. The first is what they get in terms of raises, benefits, and supports. The second satisfaction they "get" is that they are contributing members of a union who pays their fair share and who refuses to allow their peers to pay for the raises and supports that they receive.  Plus, we have a lot of fun together in support of our colleagues and our students.
